IDIOM is a recurring local variety show with a distinct Laser Kiwi twist - surprises around every corner and an iconic balance of comedy and spectacle. IDIOM is a stage for artists to do what they do best, with no compromises. Created by and with a local cast, curated by Laser Kiwi with room and energy given for fresh and exciting collaborations between artists.

Welcome to the stage “IDIOM!” The freshest, funniest variety show featuring Aotearoa’s finest! It is Once in a blue moon you get to see a line up this good!

Hosted by the one and only, unabashed, olive fuelled, award winning comedy circus power trio that is “Laser Kiwi.” Expect top notch circus, comedy, drag, music and more. Expect the unexpected! And expect to have a whale of a time.

Think late night sexy variety show but take a little bit of sexy out and replace it with left of field! Laser Kiwi uses their unique performance lens to bring together a diverse range of artforms onto the same stage all wrapped in awesome show craft and production value.

We aim to expose audiences to artforms they might not usually enjoy. This is by presenting contrasting genres alongside for example character improv and concert chello. This is also achieved by presenting an artform that wouldn’t normally be seen onstage - For example we have had a chef and table tennis players.

We also aim to champion NZ artists.
